Youth Development Network Meeting:

Tuesday, Feb. 21, 12pm-1:30pm. Lunch is provided. Special Location: NYCLU Capital Region Office 90 State Street, Suite 518 Albany, NY
This meeting is intended for individuals and organizations dedicated to working with youth to ensure LGBT youth are receiving adequate and affirming services. A Special presentation will be provided by:
  • Johanna Miller, Assistant Advocacy Director - New York Civil Liberties Union
  • Ms. Miller will provide an overview and status of implementation of DASA - the Dignity for All Students Act.

Healthcare Kits & HIV Testing:

Wednesday, Feb. 29, 4pm-6pm. Social Justice Center 33 Central Avenue Albany, NY
Free personal hygiene and safer sex kits are offered to LGBT individuals and their families in need. Free, confidential HIV testing is also available, provided by the Michael Bright Drop-In Center.

Free, private and confidential legal consultations for eligible LGBT individuals on civil issues related to name changes, domestic disputes, discrimination, family law, and more! Brought to you by attorneys Geri Pomerantz & Ann Reynolds Copps, The Legal Project, The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern NY, and the New York Bar Foundation.

Drop-in meditation classes!

Tuesdays, Feb. 7-28th
Classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.  During the classes the teacher will explain how to meditate and will give practical instructions on how to use meditation and Buddhist understanding to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life.

Transforming Relationships:  February 7 - February 28
Our relationships with our family, friends and co-workers are the most important part of our life.  Learn to use meditation to infuse our relationships with those closest to us with meaning and happiness.

Classes are self-contained so you can drop in any week.
Class fee:  $10
Time:  6:30pm-8:00 p.m.
